PROJECT OVERVIEW

project brief

This project included regrading approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of waste rock from a dumped condition to a balanced, nominal 2.5H:1V slope. Wollam Construction used a fleet of nine 100-ton trucks to haul approximately 1.3 million cubic yards of slope cover, and then placed the slope cover using the project’s dozer fleet. Once all grading work was finished, the slope surface was ripped and seeded, to restore it for natural use. This project had over 72,000 labor hours without an injury.

This project was equipment-intensive, including 27 pieces of heavy equipment. This equipment included: nine 100-ton haul trucks, eight dozers including three D10’s, and three excavators including a PC 1200 and 800. Support equipment comprised of two graders, a 950 loader, and one 8M gal water truck.
